General orthodontics refers to ‘bracket orthodontics’, which is a method of orthodontics using verified and safe appliances.
It uses the force of various appliances attached to the teeth to move the teeth and align them into the correct position.
There are various aligner such as metal, resin, ceramic, and Clippy C.
-
Metal Orthodontics
Metal has a disadvantage of being noticeable in color,
but is the most economical in terms of cost and ease of care.
-
Clippy-C Orthodontics
With its method of putting a cap on the bracket, another orthodontic appliance,
it is an appliance that reduces the frictional force compared to general orthodontics,
which allows faster tooth movement.
-
Shadow Orthodontics
This is an invisible orthodontic appliance,
attached on the inner side of the teeth,
and is effective for patients seeking aesthetics.
-
Ceramic Orthodonics
Made of porcelain similar to tooth color,
it gives less of a foreign body sensation,
is inexpensive,
and is excellent in terms of aesthetics.
-
Resin Orthodontics
It is less visible due to material similar to tooth color,
and does not damage the teeth with its low force.
02. What is clear aligner?
Clear aligner is a dental correction treatment that uses a frame made of clear resin (special reinforced plastic).
It is removable, unlike orthodontics that attach metal to the teeth, and the orthodontics method is considerably simplified by using an orthodontic appliance with plastic material instead of wire.
The treatment takes about one year, and the patient usually visits the dentist every 2 to 8 weeks.
Since movement of the teeth is not progressed in a row sequentially according to a set law or rule,
orthodontics should be carried out by replacement with a new device. To move a tooth, a force must be applied to the tooth,
and that force in a clear aligner appliance is generated by the correctional force of the material itself,
correctional force by stress generated when masticating, and correctional force by auxiliary devices
(for example, rubber between the upper and lower jaws connected to the button attached to the clear plastic frame).
Although it is an aesthetic and convenient orthodontics method that covers the teeth with clear material and applies or removes as required,
there is a limitation in orthodontics requiring a lot of tooth movement since the tooth is moved by special reinforced plastic.
By adopting patented technology such as the 'Power Control System', 'CA Leveler‘, and a biomechanical mechanism for tooth movement,
The See-through Aligner has overcome the limitation of clear aligner, as opposed to the clear aligner hand-made by a dental technician or the clear aligner simply dependent on orthodontic SW and 3D printer,
and it delivers desirable orthodontic results to fit various dental conditions.
